Mulawarman University sent a team to East Kutai Region, located in Sangatta for the national passed selection for higer education (SNMPTN) and SBMPTN.

socialized at SMAN 1 North Sangatta on Tuesday, 31 of January 2017, the socialization in this region was followed by Secondary and Vocational schools equavalance from the districs with total 18 districs in the East Kutai Region. Some of the schools could attend the socialization because of the distance too big far from town.

The team of Mulawarman University consisted Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Sulistyo Budi, Dr. Ir. Suyadi, M.S, as presenters, as the organizing comittee is Herawati, Muhammad Fadli and Syahrian for the local comittee in Samarinda. As the host, SMAN 1 North Sangatta was Bapak Hasbi as the vice of the principle of SMAN 1 North Sangatta. 

The socialization was similar conducted in Samarinda a day before, the socialization to help how to fulfill the School and Student Data Based (PDSS that should be finished on 10 of February 2017. It is informed that the timetable of SNMPTN is started by fulfill the PDSS by school from 14 January to 10 February 2017, continued with the verification data by student and school for the PDSS by 15 January to 12 February 2017, and following by online registration from 21 February to 06 March 2017,  The selection process is on 16 March to 15 April, and the announcement is 26 April 2017.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Agus Sulistyo Budi when he presented the general procedures of the selection SNMPTN in 2017 emphasized for the input data accuracy by school for PDSS, based on the experience of the last year, we got some school that was wrong input the detrimental to schools and students. 

"We remind you back to make sure the input data because it will effect for students themselves, and they can get failed for the SNMPTN," said. The accuracy is not only school but also a student and do hope for the stage should be accurate, based on the raport without manipulated." added by Professor of The Faculty of Forestry.

Furthermore, Dr. Ir. Suyadi, M.S introduced Mulawarman University as the best choice in East Kalimantan to continue the undergraduate and postgraduate and professions. The technical things for PDSS was presented by Syahrian Noor as the local committee of SNMPTN in Mulawarman University.

In general the different between SNMPTN this year for the student's requirements with the schools' acreditation. The school with Acredited A, 50% for the best students will be accepted without any test, accredited B 30%, accredited C 10% and other accredited 5%. Furthemore, the grade is done by the center of committee.

After doing the socialization in the East Kutai Region, the socialization will be continued in Bontang on 1 February 2017 at SMA YPK ( Yayasan Pupuk Kalimantan) Bontang. Unmul also are sending other teams to socialize in all Town / Regions in East Kalimantan Province as the target focus of the  local committtee of SNMPTN in these areas.(hms/arc)
